Album 63., is a concentration of Dubstep,tekkno and Drumstep of the new millennium with low overdosed on steroids and staring oblivion in the future.
Jookay è un progetto giovane e, purtroppo per il mio piacere personale di spingere sbruffoni, modesto e poco altisonante: non ci sono manifesti di rivendicazione, presentazioni di nuovi mirabolanti e patinati subgeneri, non c'è un abbigliamento ricercato né video pieni di effetti e poveri di sostanza. C'è solo musica, nella sua essenza più genuina, la volonta chiara e precisa di fare melodie per il piacere proprio e di terzi. Questo è bene, se lo si associa alla modestia dei due, al modo semplice e ingenuo di presentare brani nuovi, chiedere feedback ascoltare i propri fruitori ecco che si ha un progetto tuttora in costruzione di interesse. Seguire gli Jookay in questo momento è un po' vedere in diretta un documentario su come nasce un disco di elettronica e di come prende piede un team di beatmaker alla genesi. Experimenting the sound è un disco promesso che produce lentamente i suoi frutti, i due beatmaker hanno rilasciato sulla loro pagina facebook per ora una manciata di tracce che non superano, tolti alcuni remix, le dita della mia mano ( ho una mano sana e normale n.d.r. ). Nel titolo è già chiara l'intenzine, sono diretti è chiari dall'inizio i tipi della Jookay, questo primo lavoro è una sperimentazione senza compromessi. Elettronica, in tutte le sue forme, senza limiti di genere e strumentazione, se non nel fatto che tutti i suoni che escono dalle basi del duo sono di origine sintetica. Non ci sono i toni sincopati e pesanti della scuola inglese, quantomeno non fin ora, né beat più spinti e veloci di tipica genia germanica. Le atmosfere dei prodotti fin ora presentati sono rilassate, di quelle care alla cultura chillout, perpetual dream su tutte. Loop semplici e puliti su una base ridondante e senza cambi di rotta improvvisi, il fruitore viene guidato per tutto l'ascolto, devianze leggere fanno presagire l'eventuale cambio di tempi e beat, niente sorprende, e questa è la vera sorpresa. Non c'è una mancanza in queste scelte, anzi, la volontà di proporre come disco di presentazione un lavoro concettualmente pulito e privo di provocazioni è una decisione coraggiosa in un panorama ( che sia underground o mainstream) musicale che ormai pretende prodotti di discrepanza, roba chiassosa e di rottura. Non è il caso di Experimenting the sound degli Jookay, gente che fa musica e non copertine.
